Registry of Motor Vehicles - Accessible Parking Zone Permits and Plates

  • Licence plates or Identification Permits are available for vehicles regularly used for the transportation of persons with disabilities. These plates and permits authorize parking in any space designated for persons with disabilities.

  • Application for Accessible Parking Identification Permits requires the certification of Form LR166* by a qualified medical practitioner -- No fee required. (Doctor may charge fee, but no fee for permit)

  • Application for Accessible Parking Identification Plates requires the certification of Form LR166* by a qualified medical practitioner.

  • In order to qualify for Accessible Parking Identification Plates, the principal driver of the vehicle must be the handicapped individual.

  • Regular registration fees apply to plates.

  • Permanent and temporary Accessible Parking Identification Permits can be issued at all Registry of Motor Vehicle locations in Nova Scotia.
