The Transport Canada Office of Boating Safety (OBS), in
partnership with the Conseil québécois du nautisme (CQN) SécurÉTÉ
campaign, is now accepting nominations for the 2005 Boating Safety Award.
This award is designed to recognize an individual's or an
organization's outstanding contribution to boating safety. It is also intended
to encourage initiatives to raise awareness among “at risk” clients, thus
reducing pleasure boating incidents and deaths.
You are therefore invited to nominate candidates for this
award. To do this, use the attached nomination form, and enclose any supporting
documentation you feel is necessary. The criteria we will be taking into account
are resources, partners, and the results of the project: the number of people
reached, media impact, and contributions to boating safety. We will also be
taking into consideration innovation and volunteer involvement.
Only nominations received by April 7, 2006 will be considered.
The Boating Safety Award will be presented at the launch of the SécurÉTÉ
campaign at the end of May 2006.
We are counting on your participating to help us give
recognition to important initiatives and individuals who distinguished
themselves during the past year.
