Transport Canada > Transport Canada, Quebec Region - Aviation - System Safety

The Civil Aviation Occurrence Reporting System (CADORS) is a national database which stores information on aviation occurrences. System Safety gathers data on irregularities, incidents and accidents from various sources like Nav Canada, the Transportation Safety Board Canada of Canada, the police corps, other Transport Canada departments and the public. The data is then consolidated and entered in the national database in order to provide Transport Canada's senior managers with factual and timely information. Trimestrial and annual reports on tendencies are also created from that data.

When an accident or a reportable incident occur, it has to be reported to the Transportation Safety Board as requested by the Transportation Safety Board law and mentionned in the Aeronautical Information Publication of Canada (AIP).

It is now possible for anyone to report an event by filing the form available on Transport Canada web site. This information will be verified and then added to the database.

IMPORTANT NOTICE :

In response to recent unauthorized disclosures of CADORS information, Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) is terminating all external access to CADORS except to those agencies named in Info Source.  While it is regrettable that the flow of certain safety related information has to be interrupted, other means of conveying portions of this information to industry stakeholders are being explored and will be communicated to our industry partners in the coming months.
