Aircraft Certification is responsible for the approval of modifications and repairs on aircrafts, for the publication of supplemental type certificates, for restricted supplemental type certificates, and for design repair certificates.

The department  is also responsible,  for the Quebec region, for familiarizing modifications made in other countries, the approval of design approval representative, of design approval organisations, and of airworthiness engineering organization.
