CANADA SHIPPING ACTSable Island RegulationsCRC, Vol. XVII, c. 1465SABLE ISLAND REGULATIONS 1. [Repealed, SOR/2005-326] 2. In these Regulations, "Act" « Loi » "Act" means the Canada Shipping Act;
"Agent" « agent » "Agent" means the District Marine Agent of the Department of Transport at Dartmouth, Nova Scotia;
"Island" « île » "Island" means Sable Island;
"Minister" « ministre » "Minister" means the Minister of Transport. 3. The Island is under the control, management and administration of the Agent. 4. (1) No person shall go onto the Island without having first obtained written permission from the Agent. (2) Subsection (1) does not apply to
(3) The Agent shall not give permission for any person to go onto the Island unless he is satisfied that such person is adequately supplied and equipped to avoid falling into distress while on the Island. 5. No person shall, without having first obtained written permission from the Agent,

Any person who finds a wreck on the Island shall take all practicable precautions to save it from damage and shall report the finding to the Agent or to any person designated by the Agent before delivering the wreck to a receiver of wrecks. 7. Every person who violates any provision of these Regulations is guilty of an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding $200 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two months, or to both. C.R.C., vol. XVII, c. 1465 Modified by: SOR/2005-326 25 October 2005 pursuant to paragraphs 48(j) and 108(e) of the Canada Shipping Act, comes into force 25 October 2005. The long title is replaced; Section 1 and the heading before it are repealed; The definition "île" in section 2 of the French version is replaced.
