Description
The Department will achieve internal efficiencies through more comprehensive and
integrated business planning, enhanced access to and use of technology based
systems, greater sharing of common services with other government departments
and adoption of best administrative practices.

Description
As there is increased competition among Canadian air carriers and consumers have
more choices, a separate complaints Commissioner is no longer necessary. The
Canadian Transportation Agency already has a complaints management function,
separate from the Air Travel Complaints Commissioner, which it will continue to
exercise. The Air Travel Complaints Commissioner Office, an independent
authority to address complaints, was established in 2000 through legislative
changes to the Canada Transportation Act which followed the merger of Air Canada
and Canadian Airlines.

Description
