Problem:

The existing label understates the height limitation of the child when the car seat is used in the rear facing mode. This current label states a height of 66 cm (26"). The corrected label states that when used in the rear facing mode the restraint can accommodate a child to a maximum height of 89 cm (35"). This will allow the restraint system to be used safely in the rear facing mode over a longer period of time.

This is not a safety issue.

Company Action:

Transport Canada in cooperation with the Dorel Juvenile Group (Canada) wishes to advise the public of a correction to a label and instructions on several models of Cosco convertible infant/child restraints.

Consumer Recourse:

The model number is located on a label on the side of the restraint system. Consumers should contact the Cosco Customer Service hotline at 1-800-536-4070 to request free replacement labels for both the restraint system and the instruction booklet.
