A properly installed infant car seat should always be used when traveling with an infant in a vehicle.

An infant car seat should never be used as a crib.

An infant should never be left unattended in an infant car seat.

An infant car seat should never be modified for any purpose and only used for the safe transportation of an infant. For example, an infant car seat should never be used as a crib or swing.

Install the infant car seat in the back seat, away from front airbags.

An infant car seat should always be used correctly in a vehicle; rear-facing, secured by the available vehicle seat belt. If the infant car seat cannot be installed correctly in a vehicle, use another vehicle, where the installation of the infant car seat will be safe, to transport the infant.

Read and follow the infant car seat instructions and installation information in the vehicle's manual.
