Special Projects Planning

The Special Projects section of the Community Development and Real Estate Division is responsible for inter-departmental and public coordination of major initiatives involving City lands. The goal is to use City land-based assets to promote long term planning objectives such as affordable housing, increased open space, downtown revitalization, residential concentration in town centres and promotion and development of the Cultural District.

Currents projects include the sale and development of the former KSS school site, the Rutland Community Connections pedestrian/bikeway initiative and other areas where the City is able to use its land assets to work with the private sector and achieve community objectives.
