Road Sweeping

Spring Sweeping

Weather permitting, spring sweeping usually starts around the middle of March and it takes approximately four to six weeks to sweep all roads. Sweeping starts in the downtown core, progresses to the lower levels of the city (Mission, Orchard Park etc…) and then into the higher levels (Black Mountain, Dilworth etc…). Signage is placed in neighbourhoods twenty-four hours before the area is scheduled to be swept.

Throughout the year the downtown core is swept three times per week, while the Mission and Rutland areas are swept twice per week.

Bike Lane Sweeping

Bike lanes are swept once a month from April through June and September through October. In July and August all bike lanes are swept twice a month.
