Stuart Park

Stuart Park will be the focal point of Kelowna’s downtown waterfront and the hub of the city’s business, government and cultural districts located between City Park and Waterfront Park.

The downtown waterfront, and Stuart Park in particular, will have year-round appeal for all Kelowna’s citizens and be a major attraction for visitors to our community. Stuart Park is an ideal venue for a variety of events, performances and ceremonies to attract the interest of our regional and provincial neighbours.

The downtown waterfront area involved extends 520 linear metres from Kerry Park north to the Water Street Seniors Centre, comprising approximately three hectares. Stuart Park is that section of the property directly across from City Hall. The park is named in honour of former Mayor James H. Stuart who, upon his retirement in 1996, had served ten years as Mayor of Kelowna and devoted over 31 years to community service.

While Stuart Park was to be created in 2005, design and development is currently on hold pending resolution of planning and development initiatives in the downtown and on the waterfront.
