Official Community Plan
The Kelowna 2020 Official Community Plan (OCP) provides a policy framework for Council by addressing issues
such as housing, transportation, parks, economic development, the natural and social environment, infrastructure etc.
Official Community Plans deal with issues expected to arise over the coming twenty-year period. In order to ensure ongoing relevance these plans are typically reviewed/refined every five years to ensure that the OCP continues to meet community needs.
Council adopted the current OCP Bylaw in June 1995. A major OCP policy update, in the form of an OCP amendment, was approved by Council in March 2002. Revised Future Land Use, Road Network and Financing chapters and mapping were approved by Council on January 19, 2004.
