Environment

The Environment component of the City of Kelowna’s Environment and Solid Waste Division strives to maintain and improve upon the ecological integrity of the magnificent Okanagan valley.

The City recognizes the need for protection and enhancement of natural areas, and is aware that a healthy environment positively impacts the quality of life enjoyed by Kelowna residents.

Environment staff focus on air quality, watershed health, stewardship, restoration projects, public education, policy development and pollution prevention. They are also responsible for reviewing development and infrastructure projects for environmental issues and approvals.
