ReLeaf Kelowna

The forests of tomorrow are ours to create today!

Join the Tree ReLeaf Kelowna program and help us replace some of the trees lost in the Okanagan Mountain Park Fire of 2003.

The goal of the Parks Division is to plant 100,000 trees - one tree for every Kelowna resident - in time for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics in recognition of the three pillars of the Olympic movement: sport, culture and the environment.

The Okanagan Mountain Park Fire devastated Kelowna’s southern suburbs; the Tree ReLeaf program will help recreate the landscapes lost.

Trees do much more for us than just provide shade and scenery; trees help to stabilize soil, preventing erosion and runoff, they also offer wildlife habitat, reduce air pollution and add to the overall beauty of our city.

Residents of other areas are also invited to participate. We recognize that we can never replace all of the trees lost in our area, so you can help us out by replacing some of these trees in your own community.

Win!

Please join the ReLeaf Program.

If you register your plantings on our website you’ll be entered for a chance to win terrific prizes. You’ll also help us keep track of the plantings as we approach our goal of 100,000 trees. The prize draw will occur in October at the “Days of Wine and Roses” event held annually at Prospera Place.
