2006 Bicycle Lane Projects

In 2006, the City of Kelowna will spend $500,000 on new bike lanes. Please note the following list only includes City projects and does not include projects that are development-initiated.

Lakeshore Road

Between Chute Lake Road and Uplands Drive (2.1 km)

Scenic Road

Between Glenmore and Valley Roads - contingent upon road resurfacing (1.2 km)

Valley Road

Bike lanes have been added to Valley Road between Kane and Union Roads. Construction of the 3.4 kilometre stretch cost $580,000 with a contribution of $250,000 from the provincial government.

This new section connects with existing bike lanes on both ends and will improve access to the new UBC Okanagan campus.

Kelowna offers a 220 kilometre bike lane network and budgets $500,000 annually for cycling infrastructure.
