The General Aviation Division
|
Welcome. General Aviation staff work with their colleagues in Civil Aviation to deliver the full range of General Aviation programs and regulatory services to pilots, instructors, flying schools, aircraft owners and other recreational aviation enthusiasts within the Ontario Region, (approximately one third of the licensed pilots and registered aircraft in the country are based in Ontario).
Divisional personnel monitor and certify training schools and programs, administer some 4,000 written examinations each year, conduct and monitor flight tests, licence new members of the aviation community in addition to developing and delivering aviation safety related educational, awareness and refresher programs.
Responsibility also resides in the division for aircraft registration and leasing operations, (the use of leased commercial aircraft by other than the registered owner), and for maintaining the Canadian Civil Aircraft Register for the approximately 8,000 aircraft based in Ontario.
The division is also responsible for authorizing and monitoring a variety of sport aviation activities and special aviation events (eg. airshows) throughout the region.
If you have a question or concern about the services we provide, please feel free to contact me directly at the the address below.
