Exercising in space is very important, especially during longer space missions, like the ones astronauts experience on the International Space Station. Astronauts are required to exercise 2 hours a day while living on the Station. Both a stationary bicycle and a treadmill are used in order to exercise the lower and upper body muscles. A series of straps and restraints are also used to keep the astronauts secure against the exercise equipment.
