Star Venus is one of the brightest objects in the sky and has often been called the morning or the evening star. Venus is the second planet from the Sun, and is the closest planet to Earth, but it does not have any oceans or life forms like Earth.

Thick, rapidly spinning clouds blanket Venus’ surface; these clouds do not let any sunlight pass through to the planet’s surface. This makes the planet act like a greenhouse. If you have ever been in a greenhouse, you probably know how warm it can get inside! Venus’ thick atmosphere allows the Sun’s heat in but does not let it escape. Creating a world with surface temperatures that can reach over 450° C, hotter than daytime on Mercury, the closest planet to the Sun. Greenhouse

Clock Venus’s rotation is somewhat unusual in that it is both very slow (234 Earth days per Venus day) and it is also the only planet in our solar system that rotates "backwards". This means someone standing on Venus would see the Sun rise in the West and set in the East as opposed to what we are used to on Earth.
