Advanced Studies

Advanced Studies take a well-defined concept or idea and, through a multidisciplinary team approach, develop it into a potential Space Science mission, a potential Space Science flight instrument, or a large-scale collaborative research project aimed at the enhancement of knowledge. An Advanced Study may be an extension of a successful and promising Concept Study, or a study that did not move through a Concept Study phase. An annual review determines the continuation of the study. These reviews are based on performance and whether the deliverables planned for the following year are attainable and relevant.
