Implementing Crown Corporations Obligations under the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act

Effective June 11, 2006, federal parent Crown corporations will be required to comply with the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act either by direct compliance with the Act or by a modified environmental assessment process set out in regulations.

In preparation for this transition, the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency has been working with Crown corporations to examine the implications of the Act on their activities, and where appropriate, develop frameworks for regulatory options.

The Agency is committed to providing opportunities for meaningful and timely public engagement in this process. Documents relating to the implementation of Crown corporation obligations under the Act will be posted here for public review and comments. Please check this page regularly for updates.
