The Labour Market Policy (LMP) Directorate is part of Human Resources and Skills Development Canada’s (HRSDC) Strategic Policy and Planning Branch. It provides policy advice in support of HRSDC's mission of promoting a highly skilled and mobile labour force and an efficient and inclusive labour market.

Accordingly, the Directorate is responsible for labour market research, the analysis of labour market issues, the development of policy options, and consultations with stakeholders. To accomplish this work, the Directorate is organized around five teams: Promoting Participation, Labour Market Issues, Workplace, Income Support and Work Incentives, and Labour Market Research.
