Overview of the Canadian Environmental Assessment Registry
As a result of the proclamation of Bill C-9, an act to amend the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency has developed an awareness session to assist with the implementation of the new requirements for the Canadian Environmental Assessment Registry (also called the Registry or CEAR).
This session is designed to provide an overview of the main policies and operations of the Registry. The awareness session will address legal obligations for the Registry including: responsible authority and Agency responsibilities, information required to be in the Internet site and project file components of the Registry, and general Registry management. There will also be a question and answer period.
Note: This is not a technical training session. It does not include hands-on training for participants who input data into the Internet site of the Registry.

The purpose of this session is to provide an overview of:
- the key policies and operations of the Registry, and
- the legal obligations for the Registry.

This session will be of interest to all those who are involved in or managing the Canadian Environmental Assessment Registry during the environmental assessment process.
Consider attending if you are:
- involved in federal environmental assessments, or
- managing the Registry for your department or agency.
