Welcome to Interior Health!
Promoting healthy lifestyles and providing needed health services in a timely, caring and efficient manner, to the highest professional and quality standards

Protect those you love with a timely ounce of prevention

Interior Health wants to remind parents about the importance of immunizations, and about the importance of getting them done on time. Immunization is the cornerstone of health protection, and in BC vaccinations are offered free of charge to protect children from 12 different diseases.

While many parents are aware of the benefits of immunization, many are not aware that timing is critical as well. Having your child immunized on schedule provides the best immune response.

Vaccines in the first two years are given at 2, 4, 6, 12, and 18 months. All of these shots are important in protecting your children. The 18-month shot is the one most frequently forgotten.

Currently in BC, each new parent is given a “Passport to Health” booklet, which contains a schedule to record his or her child’s vaccinations.

When it comes to immunizing your children, an ounce of prevention really is worth a pound of cure – especially when you are protecting your child against diseases that can cause serious illness.

National Immunization week runs April 24-30.
