At least once per year, COSEWIC meets to discuss and evaluate the status of Canadian species. Here you will find the List of Species scheduled for the next COSEWIC Species Assessment Meeting, the results of species assessment meeting, and the updated COSEWIC Canadian Species at Risk Publication.

Assessment Process


COSEWIC Species Assessment Meeting

COSEWIC meets at least once a year, usually in April or May, to consider new and updated reports and to make its status determinations (Upcoming Meetings).

Canadian Species at Risk

All species assessed by COSEWIC as of May 2005. This publication is printed once per year, after the spring COSEWIC meeting. The website version of this document includes minor revisions to COSEWIC information and updates to the Legal Listing field (SARA). You can register to be notified of updates following a COSEWIC assessment meeting.
