![]() Media AdvisoryCanadian Forces Transformation CeremonyMA-06.002 - January 27, 2006 OTTAWA – General Rick Hillier, Chief of the Defence Staff, will preside over a ceremony on Tuesday, January 31, to stand-up four new operational commands – Canada Command, Canadian Expeditionary Force Command, Canadian Special Operations Forces Command, and Canadian Operational Support Command, as well as the dissolution of the Deputy Chief of Defence Staff Group. The new commands become operational on February 1. Event: CF Transformation Ceremony Date: January 31, 2006 Time: 10:30 a.m. Location: Ottawa Congress Centre, 3 rd Floor, Salon D-F Following the ceremony, media will have brief media opportunities with each of the new commanders as well as the Chief of the Defence Staff: General Rick Hillier, Chief of the Defence Staff Vice Admiral J.Y. Forcier, Commander, Canada Command Major General Michel Gauthier, Commander, Canadian Expeditionary Force Command Brigadier General Daniel Benjamin, Commander, Canadian Operational Support Command Colonel David Barr, Commander, Canadian Special Operations Forces Command -30- Note: Media must arrive no later than 10 a.m. to allow time for registration and equipment set up. The media registration desk will be outside the main entrance to Salon D. Media will be required to wear a media pass which they will receive upon registration. |
