Jeffrey N. Parker Canadian Consul General to Seattle

Jeffrey N. Parker Canadian Consul General to Seattle

On behalf of the Government of Canada, thank you for visiting the Web site of the Canadian Consulate General, Seattle.

Our office represents Canada in the four-state area of Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. In sheer size, this region comprises nearly one quarter of the United States, with its economy equivalent to about one third of Canada's entire domestic economy. The Pacific Northwest is headquarters to some of the most impressive Fortune 500 companies, representing key industries from software and air planes to coffee and sports shoes, and it serves as a major gateway for bilateral and international trade. Natural resources were the backbone of this region; more recently, new industries in the high-tech and financial sectors have grown and prospered, diversifying the economy and increasing this area's importance on the world stage. For example, the world's largest software company, Microsoft, is based here. Annual two-way Canada-US trade in this border region totals nearly $16 billion and is a cornerstone of its economic prosperity.
