health care First Ministers Agree on 10-year Health Care Plan


From September 13 to 15, 2004, Prime Minister Martin and the provincial premiers and territorial leaders met to discuss the future of health care in Canada. They agreed on a 10-year plan to strengthen health care, with $41 billion in new federal funding to improve access to doctors and other health providers, to reduce wait times and to close the gap between the health status of Aboriginal Peoples and the Canadian public.
