Conference Overview
Why is this conference important?
The 2006 Integrated Human Resources and Business Planning Conference will
address human resource and business planning and accountability issues through
the experiences of successful practitioners and managers who face the same
challenges as you. Decision makers who are leading change will provide updates
on major cross-cutting initiatives.
There is a need and an appetite for the public service to become more
responsive, effective and accountable to Canadians. Horizontal government
priorities such as employment equity and cross-cutting initiatives such as
expenditure reviews, internal service modernization and integration of services
to Canadians will have far reaching impacts on human resources for a number of
years to come. Thus, more than ever before, we need to work together, across
functional, business and departmental boundaries to achieve coherent and
integrated planning, management and leadership.
At the same time, HR modernization will provide increased flexibility for
organizations to address their current and future HR requirements. As a result,
organizations will need to develop a performance management regime to maximize
new flexibilities through a coherent linkage of the various accountability
frameworks.
How you will benefit:
- Expand your understanding of the concepts of integrated HR and business
planning;
- Better appreciate the linkages between the accountability frameworks (MAF,
PCMAF, SMAF);
- Gain awareness of government cross-cutting initiatives and potential
impacts for organizations;
- Learn how to operationalize tools and concepts; and,
- Share success stories and lessons learned.
Who should attend?
Managers, corporate/strategic planners, HR professionals and others with
roles linked to accountability and reporting, effectively integrating business
and human resources planning at all levels in a changing environment is vital to
an organization's sustainability, accountability and performance management.
If such is you role, then you should attend the 2006 Integrated Human
Resources and Business Planning Conference.
Since effective integration of human resources into planning requires
linkages among managers, corporate and human resource planners, as well as a
variety of HR specialists key to responding to current and future needs of your
organization and to the Public Service overall, you may want to consider sending
a team of cross-functional players in the planning process, both at the regional
and corporate levels.
The conference limit is 500.
Registration can be done on the Canada
School of Public Service Site. The details of this conference are subject to change:
topics and speakers will be added to the agenda as they are confirmed. Please revisit this page periodically for updated information.
