  • Canada School of Public Service

    The Canada School of Public Service is the common learning service provider for the Public Service of Canada. It brings a more unified approach to serving the common learning and development needs of public servants and helps ensure that all Public Service employees across Canada have the knowledge and skills they need to deliver results for Canadians.

  • Public Service Commission of Canada

    The Public Service Commission (PSC) is an independent agency reporting to Parliament, dedicated to protecting merit, non-partisanship, representativeness and the use of both official languages. It is a key player in the implementation of the Public Service Modernization Act, and specifically the new Public Service Employment Act. The PSC safeguards the integrity of staffing in the public service and the political impartiality of public servants through policy development, guidance, audits and investigations. It is also responsible for recruiting talented and skilled Canadians from across the country to the public service.

  • Public Service Human Resources Management Agency of Canada

    The Public Service Human Resources Management Agency of Canada (PSHRMAC) was created to foster and sustain modern, results-driven, human resources management across the public service. PSHRMAC is working with its central agency partners, departments, agencies and unions to promote a myriad of public service modernization initiatives including the implementation of the PSMA, classification reform, leadership and core learning development, expanding the use of official languages in the public service and building a more representative workforce.

  • Public Works and Government Services Canada

    The Way Forward is a wide-ranging strategy led by Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) to find innovative ways to deliver services smarter, faster and at reduced cost, and to improve how the Government of Canada does business.

    The Way Forward focuses on increasing efficiencies in three key areas: procurement, property management, and information technology. In addition, PWGSC will help lead the government’s efforts to green its operations and contribute to its sustainable development agenda.

  • Service Canada

    The goal of Service Canada is to provide better, one-stop service to more Canadians in more communities, delivered with the right service attitude. Over time, it will bring federal services and benefits together making it easier for Canadians get more of the help they need in one place, whether by phone, Internet or in person.

    Service Canada will integrate services from a number of federal departments to form a single service delivery network. Over the next three years, Service Canada will continue to enhance and introduce more services with the goal of continuous improvement in service delivery and client satisfaction.

  • Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat

    The Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) supports the Treasury Board, which is a Committee of Cabinet. It functions as the government's management board, oversees the operations of the federal government as a whole, and serves as the general manager and employer of the Public Service. TBS provides advice to Treasury Board ministers in the management and administration of government, oversees government management and expenditure performance, and fulfils the statutory responsibilities of a central government agency. TBS is also responsible for the comptrollership function of government, providing oversight of the financial management functions in departments and agencies.

    Office of the Comptroller General

    On December 12, 2003, the Prime Minister announced the re-establishment of the Comptroller General of Canada within the Treasury Board Secretariat as a key element in strengthening government-wide comptrollership and oversight, particularly the areas of financial management and audit. The Comptroller General will oversee government spending, provide leadership across the public service to the financial management and internal audit communities, and ensure standards are set and observed.
