From the moment your mom or dad enrolled in the CF, you made yourself lots of new friends and “family members”. You have just not met them yet!

Connecting

Seeing your dad or mom off to basic training is a big change in your life. You may be worried about what will happen to you when you are required to eventually move to a new community and leave your friends behind. Take heart. You will not be alone there and will soon make new friends and schoolmates who share your interests and concerns. For a glimpse of what life is like for a military "child", check out the Connecting Youth website and join its discussion. By the time you find out where your mom or dad is posted, you might already have made some online friends in that new community!

Right now, you are already eligible to enjoy the services and programs of the Military Family Resource Centre in your area. There are such centres on every base in Canada. You can meet kids who have already been through this experience, participate in activities, and join a club. Need to talk about your worries? Kids Help Phone 1 (800) 668-6868, free and confidential, 24/7, 365 days of the year.

Sports and Leisure
