ANDREW E. SAXTON APPOINTED TO CANADIAN COMMERCIAL
CORPORATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS
International Trade Minister Pierre Pettigrew is pleased to announce the appointment of
Andrew E. Saxton to the Board of Directors of the Canadian Commercial Corporation
(CCC).
Mr. Saxton is Deputy Chair of Allied Hotel Properties; Chair of King George Financial
Corporation, Investment Committee; and Director of Insurance Corporation of British
Columbia. He is also a member of the Advisory Boards of HSBC Capital (Canada) Inc.,
Private Equity Fund, and B.C. Life Sciences Fund.
Mr. Saxton's previous business activities included: Co-founder and Director of
Laurentide Financial Corporation and BCTV; Chair of Grouse Mountain Resorts; and
President of Elite Insurance Company. He has been involved in many community and
non-profit activities, most notably as Vice-President of the Vancouver Opera, President
of the B.C. Heart Foundation, and a Director of the World Heart Federation, Geneva,
Switzerland.
The Canadian Commercial Corporation is a Crown corporation that reports to
Parliament through the Minister for International Trade. The Corporation supports the
export efforts of Canadian companies by providing contracting expertise and
performance guarantees to foreign buyers. It is a valued member of Team Canada Inc.
