MANLEY - VISIT TO STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN, AND MOSCOW, RUSSIA

John Manley, Minister of Foreign Affairs, will visit Stockholm, Sweden, and Moscow, Russia, from June 20 to 25, 2001. On June 20, in Stockholm, the Minister will attend a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding on a scientific co-operation agreement between Genome Canada and the Swedish Karolinska Institutet's Center for Genomics and Bioinformatics. That same day, the Minister will give the keynote speech to the Canada Sweden Business Association's annual meeting and luncheon. Minister Manley will attend the Canada-European Union Summit in Stockholm on June 21.

On June 25, Mr. Manley will visit Moscow, where he will meet with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Khristenko and Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov.
