PETTIGREW - VISIT TO B.C.

Media representatives are advised that International Trade Minister Pierre Pettigrew will travel to Victoria and Vancouver from November 22 to 24 to participate in a series of meetings and activities.

In Victoria, the Minister will participate in the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade's annual Diplomatic Forum, where he will discuss various issues and provide an update on the recent developments at the WTO Conference in Doha, Qatar. He will then meet with British Columbia Minister of Forests Mike de Jong. In Vancouver, Mr. Pettigrew will meet with representatives from the B.C. Softwood Lumber Trade Council and will be the guest speaker at the Vancouver Board of Trade. Minister Pettigrew also intends to visit a lumber mill in the Vancouver area, along with Environment Minister David Anderson.
