KNUTSON - VISIT TO KYIV, UKRAINE

Media representatives are advised that Secretary of State (Central and Eastern Europe and Middle East) Gar Knutson will visit Kyiv, Ukraine, from February 16 to 19, 2002, following his participation in a Team Canada trade mission to Russia.

In Kyiv, Mr. Knutson will meet with Prime Minister Anatolii Kinakh, Foreign Minister Anatolii Zlenko, Deputy Head of the Administration of the President of Ukraine, Anatolii Orel and members of the Ukrainian Parliament Committee on Foreign Affairs. He will also meet with local Canadian business representatives and managers of Canadian technical assistance projects.
