BACKGROUND BRIEFING ON WTO LUMBER DECISION

Media representatives are advised that senior officials from the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade will hold a background briefing on Friday, July 26, to provide information on the WTO's decision regarding Canada's challenge of the U.S. imposition of countervailing duties on imports of Canadian softwood lumber as a result of a preliminary determination by the International Trade Commission.
