PETERSON TO TRAVEL TO U.S.

International Trade Minister Jim Peterson will travel to Washington on January 12 for meetings with Secretary of the Department of Commerce Don Evans and U.S. Trade Representative Bob Zoellick to discuss trade issues of mutual interest. The Minister will then travel to Raleigh, North Carolina, where he will officially open the new Canadian consulate as part of an effort to strengthen the Canada-U.S. partnership and bolster Canada's ability to promote its interests in this region of the United States.
