Mandate

The mandate of the Human Resources Integrated Reporting Interdepartmental Committee (HRIRIC) is to support the development and implementation of integrated reporting by departments and agencies to central agencies on human resources management across the Public Service (PS), how information will be collected and the development and publication of the Annual Report to Parliament on Human Resources Management across the PS.

Governance

As a committee, the HRIRIC will use the existing Public Service Human Resources Management Agency of Canada's (PSHRMAC) decision-making governance apparatus for Human Resources Management. The HRIRIC will direct its action plans, the results of its discussions and research, and its recommendations to the Vice-President, Human Resources Planning, Accountability and Diversity Branch (HRPAD) of PSHRMAC and will respect the intended governance process for the PSHRMAC Policy Council and Deputy Minister Human Resources Management Advisory Committee (DMHRMAC) in order to seek their advice, approval and guidance.

Membership

The Director, or his or her designate, of the Accountability and Results Directorate of HRPAD will chair the HRIRIC. The membership will consist of approximately twelve to fifteen Human Resources management specialists from across government departments and agencies. Two seats will be reserved for small departments/agencies, including central agencies. A representative from the Public Service Commission, Treasury Board and Canada School of Public Service will serve on the Committee. The Committee may from time to time create sub-working groups of the whole for specific tasks.

Communications

Records of Decisions arising from the Committee will be distributed to each representative. It will be the responsibility of that representative to ensure the Records of Decisions and other relevant information are forwarded to their Heads of Human Resources and other interested parties in their departments / agencies.

Meetings

The Committee will meet every four to six weeks unless otherwise arranged, and on an ad hoc basis as required.

Secretariat Function

The Accountability, and Results Directorate of HRPAD will provide the Secretariat support for the HRIRIC.
