Mandate
The National Committee of Federal Public Servants with Disabilities (NCFPSD)
will promote awareness, represent, and advance the needs of Federal Public
Servants with both visible and invisible Disabilities in the Public Service of
Canada, in areas including but not limited to those of recruitment, retention,
accommodation, accessibility, training and development, career progression,
succession planning, promotion and advancement, workplace barriers, and
respectful, welcoming, and inclusive workplace environments, and provide
information, advice, analysis, and recommendations on those needs and the
actions required to address them to Senior Federal Public Service Management.
Our community: energized, enabled, empowered
- Our community is the new and emerging group of federal
public servants with disabilities committed to addressing access issues and
who are reaching out to one another
- Energized (also will serve as theme for day 1) - we are
energized by our action plan and by our achievements and successes
- Enabled (also will serve as theme for day 2) - it's all
about obtaining more access to lead productive work lives - accommodations
and sensitivity awareness enable us to do and be our best
- Empowered (also will serve as theme for day 3) - it's
about working in partnership with managers to create an inclusive and
barrier free workplace
Objectives
- Provide an opportunity for persons with disabilities to learn more about
the NCFPSD and to become more involved in its success.
- Document achievements to date.
- Improve regional outreach.
- Provide an opportunity for managers to discuss and identify information
and tools they require to better respond to the needs of persons with
disabilities within the Public Service.
- Identify and review issues including any that are outstanding from the
5-Year Strategic Plan and develop action plans.
- Present issues and proposed action plans to senior managers on day 3 of
the Congress.
- Elect Regional and NCR Co-Chairs and introduce the new NCFPSD Executive
Board.
