In May of 2005 the Canadian
media reported that Agent Orange was sprayed at Canadian
Forces Base Gagetown in June of 1966. In June of 1966
I was a 12 year old "army brat" living at
CFB Gagetown along with my parents and 4 siblings.
This news story caught my attention and has since
raised many questions.

The official Canadian portrait of Her Majesty Queen
Elizabeth II was taken during the 2002 Jubilee Visit
and unveiled on June 2, 2003, in honour of the 50th
anniversary of her coronation.
The portrait is made available at absolutely no cost.

Rare audiovisual archives now available to the public
online
This new Web site focuses
on Canada's participation in World War I. In
co-operation with the Imperial War Museum in London,
England, the National Archives of Canada and the Canadian
War Museum, the NFB had conducted a comprehensive
inventory of Canadian Expeditionary Force footage
available for consultation around the world.

THE VALIANTS MEMORIAL
The
Minister of Canadian Heritage announced on 13 August
2003 that a memorial honouring fourteen valiant men
and women who gave outstanding wartime service to Canada
during the last four centuries will be erected on Confederation
Square in Ottawa. The National Capital Commission has
been mandated to manage this commemoration on behalf
of the Department of Canadian Heritage. Such a memorial
was proposed by the Valiants Foundation, who chose the
fourteen persons to be thus distinguished.
