Release of Flight Safety Investigation Report for July 2002 Crash of Griffon Helicopter

OTTAWA – The final Flight Safety Investigation Report (FSIR) for the crash of Griffon helicopter CH146420 has been completed and will be posted on the Air Force Directorate of Flight Safety website today.

Griffon helicopter CH146420 crashed near 5 Wing, Goose Bay, on July 18, 2002, while returning from a cancelled Search and Rescue mission. Both pilots were killed, and the two other crew members were seriously injured.
