United Nations Day Ceremony

MA-05.062 - October 21, 2005

OTTAWA – A United Nations Day ceremony will be held at the National Peacekeeping Monument on October 23, 2005 to honour Canadian peacekeepers – past and present. Memorial Cross Recipient Mrs. Gloria Frazer will lay flowers in memory of fallen peacekeepers. Minister of National Defence Bill Graham will make a short address and will update mission plaques on the Monument wall, thereby officially closing 12 missions. Additionally, plaques representing four new missions will be unveiled.

WHEN: Sunday, October 23, 2005 at 14:00 Eastern Time.

WHERE: The National Peacekeeping Monument on Sussex Drive, Ottawa.
