Manoir Saint-Sauveur, Saint-Sauveur, Québec

The Human Resources Management Modernization Branch (HRMM) of the Public Service Human Resources Management Agency of Canada (PSHRMAC) is pleased to invite you to the 2005 Classification Symposium. The event is being held at the Manoir Saint-Sauveur in Saint-Sauveur, Québec, beginning on Monday, September 26, with an informal networking dinner.

Program highlights:

  • Plenary address on how HR services such as classification will be delivered more efficiently through the new internal services modernization program.
  • Keynote Speaker on how Public Service Modernization and the Public Service Employment Act will make staffing processes faster, fairer and more transparent for employees and managers while fostering harmonious relationships with bargaining agents.
  • Panel discussions on how modernization will change roles for HR professionals, line managers and bargaining agents.
  • Workshops on classification issues and services to support the day to day business of the classification community.
  • Motivational speakers to address culture changes that are required for modernization to be successful.

Who should attend?

  • HR professionals – Learn about the latest HR initiatives and participate in workshops to discuss the impacts of these changes on your work and your community. In particular, this is an important opportunity for new organization and classification professionals to network with colleagues from across the country.
  • Line managers – Get an update on the classification program and the ways in which HR modernization will impact your role in the organization.
  • Bargaining Agents – Share perspectives on how the public service is adapting to HR modernization and discuss the evolving role of bargaining agents.

We encourage you to take full advantage of this opportunity. Meanwhile mark your calendars and plan your department’s or agency’s participation in this year’s Symposium.

We look forward to seeing you at this year’s Symposium.

Yours truly,

Rick Burton
