Indigenous Peoples and Sustainable Development in the Canadian Arctic Towards a Sustainable Future

The monograph Indigenous Peoples and Sustainable Development in the Canadian Arctic is a Canadian contribution to the land use dialogue at the Eighth Session of the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development (UN CSD), April 24 to May 5, 2000.

The monograph identifies the relative progress made on Chapter 26 of Agenda 21, "Recognizing and Strengthening the Role of Indigenous People and Their Communities", and is offered as a contribution to the Indigenous Day being organized during the session. It traces, in particular, the Government of Canada's efforts to implement and build on commitments in pursuit of sustainable.
