Canada and Freshwater - Experience and Practices
The monograph Canada and Freshwater: Experience and Practices is a Canadian contribution to the freshwater dialogue at the Sixth Session of the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development (UN CSD), April 20 to May 1, 1998.
The monograph provides a snapshot of the state of freshwater in Canada including water quantity, water use, and water quality. It is an overview of sustainable water management in Canada encompassing partnerships, an ecosystem approach, and the role of science, as well as a perspective on international concerns related to freshwater. In terms of experience and best practices, community initiatives from across Canada are prominently featured.
