Information About the Search Collections
The Strategis search is divided into different collections that you can navigate by using tabs. You will find more information about what each collection contains below:
The Industry Canada Collection
This option will restrict your search results to Web pages from Industry Canada and Strategis. It will not search specialized databases from Industry Canada and Strategis, which can be searched from their respective tabs.
The Canadian Company Capabilities Collection
The Canadian Company Capabilities (CCC) database contains profiles on more than 50 000 Canadian businesses. These business profiles contain comprehensive information on contacts, products, services, trade experience, and technology.
This option will restrict your search results to company records contained within the CCC database. It will not search pages contained within the CCC Website (those pages are searchable through the Strategis tab).

The Federal Corporations Data On-line Collection
The Federal Corporations Database contains information on business entities that are federally incorporated. This information includes corporation number, name, creation date, city, province, corporation status and act.
This option will restrict your search results to company records contained within the Federal Corporations Database. It will not search information pages contained within the Corporations Canada Website (those pages are searchable through the Strategis tab).

The Canadian Copyrights Database Collection
The Canadian Copyrights Database includes all copyrights registered as of October 1, 1991 (and in some cases, registrations prior to this date).
Search results do not include information pages related to copyrights. Those pages are searchable through the Industry Canada tab. For more advanced search options, go to the Canadian Copyrights Database.
The Canadian Patents Index Collection
This collection is a subset of the Canadian Patents Database and contains only information published after 1978. Search results do not include information pages related to patents. Those pages are searchable through the Industry Canada tab. To search the full database, go to the Canadian Patents Database.
The Canadian Trade-marks Database Collection
The Canadian Trade-marks Database includes all active and many inactive marks that were either applied for or registered pursuant to the current Trade-marks Act or former trade-mark legislation. The database also includes all trade-marks (after 1979) and some trade-marks (prior to 1979) that were cancelled, expunged, abandoned or refused. Also included in the database are additional words and designs that are not by definition trade-marks, but that are protected by the Trade-marks Act or other related legislation.
Search results do not include information pages related to trade-marks. Those pages are searchable through the Industry Canada tab. For more advanced search options, go to the Canadian Trade-marks Database.
The Industry Portfolio Collection
This option will restrict your search to Web pages from the main sites of the Industry Portfolio. It will not search specialized databases from Industry Canada and Strategis, which can be searched from their respective tabs.
