Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)

It also fulfills its mandate by supporting long-term economic development; the creation of sustainable employment and income; and entrepreneurship.

Canada-Ontario Infrastructure Program (COIP)

The Canada-Ontario Infrastructure Program, which began in 2000, represents a six-year, $680.7-million federal investment in partnership with Ontario, its local governments, and the private sector. The program's purpose is to invest in urban and rural municipal infrastructure in Ontario. The program's top priority is “green” municipal infrastructure, with the balance of investments focusing on health, safety, sports, culture, tourism and innovation.

Community Futures

Pan Canadian Community Futures Network

Community Futures is a community-led initiative, assisting communities in rural Canada to develop and implement strategies to deal with economic change. Community Futures Development Corporations / Community Business Development Corporations (CFDCs/CBDCs) provide communities with a variety of services including development loans, technical support and community economic development (CED) projects.

Pan Canadian Community Futures is a gateway to nearly 300 CED centres across Canada and can be navigated by province or territory to find out about the programs and services provided by CFDCs and CBDCs.

Enterprise Cape Breton Corporation (ECBC)

Enterprise Cape Breton Corporation (ECBC) is the principal Government of Canada organization for economic development in all of Cape Breton Island and a portion of mainland Nova Scotia in and around the Town of Mulgrave. Part of the Industry Portfolio, the ECBC is involved in various activities to promote its mandate, including the provision of services for the Government of Canada, support to business (especially tourism, manufacturing and processing, oil and gas, agriculture, aquaculture, and knowledge-based industries), support to communities, and policy and research.

Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern and rural Ontario (FedNor)

The Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern and rural Ontario (FedNor) is responsible for promoting economic growth, diversification and job creation and sustainable, self-reliant communities in Northern Ontario, by working with community partners and other organizations to improve small business access to capital, information and markets.

Western Economic Diversification Canada (WD)

Western Economic Diversification Canada (WD), established in 1987, promotes the development and diversification of the economy of Western Canada to advance the interests of the West in national economic policy. To achieve its mandate, WD focuses its efforts in four key areas: providing capital services, establishing a Western Canada Business Service Network, supplying business services, and helping to establish industry alliances.
