The MAF was developed by the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) to provide deputy heads and all public service managers with a list of management expectations that reflect the different elements of current management responsibilities.
Implementing modern management practices is a priority for Industry Canada. The MAF reflects the many management-focused initiatives currently under way and brings together the principal elements of various frameworks, such as Human Resources Modernization, Service Improvement and Shared Corporate, Administrative and Information Technology Services.
