Temporary Moratorium on Electricity Meter Pattern Approval Applications - Quality and Reliability Information Requirements, PS-E-11 (issued: 2003-11-10), in PDF format, 80 KB

Provisional specification PS-E-11 establishes quality and reliability information requirements for electricity meter pattern approval applications to support a lengthening of the initial reverification period of the meter’s type or sub-type in accordance with the provisions of Bulletin E-26: Reverification Periods for Electricity Meters and Metering Installations.

In late 2005, Measurement Canada (MC) launched a joint working group composed of MC personnel and electricity and gas meter manufacturer and utility representatives to establish general requirements for evaluating the reliability of electricity and gas meters. As the scope of this initiative will clarify and expand upon the current requirements established in PS-E-11, MC has decided to suspend consideration of applications under the provisional specification until the working group completes its work. This moratorium is effective immediately and will remain in place until general specifications are established as a result of the working group's recommendations.
