Interpretation Bulletin - A SIGNIFICANT PART OF DUTIES This interpretation bulletin is issued by the Registrar of Lobbyists under the authority of subsection 10.(1) of the Lobbyist Registration Act (hereafter “the Act”). The purpose of this bulletin is to help you better understand the phrase “a significant part of the duties” as used in section 7 of the Act and as it applies to employees of corporations or organizations.
Interpretation Bulletin - COMMUNICATING WITH FEDERAL PUBLIC OFFICE HOLDERS This interpretation bulletin is issued by the Registrar under the authority of subsection 10. (1) of the Lobbyists Registration Act (hereafter "the Act"). The purpose of this bulletin is to provide guidance regarding the term “communication” used in Sections 5 and 7 of the Act and possible implications for employees and heads of corporations or organizations.
Interpretation Bulletin - DISCLOSURE OF PREVIOUS PUBLIC OFFICES This interpretation bulletin is issued by the Registrar under the authority of subsection 10.(1) of the Lobbyists Registration Act (hereafter "the Act"). It provides guidance to help users of the lobbyist registration system better understand the intent behind and necessary disclosures relating to amendments to the Act that added a requirement for lobbyists who register to disclose the nature of their past public sector work. This is found in paragraph 5.(2)(h.1) of the amended Act for consultant lobbyists and in paragraph 7.(3)(h.3) for in-house lobbyists employed by corporations or organizations. These legislative amendments to the Act came into force on June 20, 2005 (S.C. 2003, c.10).
Advisory Opinion - BOARDS OF DIRECTORS: APPLICATION OF THE ACT TO OUTSIDE CHAIRPERSONS AND MEMBERS This advisory opinion is issued by the Registrar under the authority of subsection 10.(1) of the Lobbyists Registration Act (hereafter “the Act”). The purpose of this opinion is to provide guidance on the application of the Act. This advisory opinion supersedes any previous opinions issued on the topic of outside directors.

The purpose of this opinion is to provide guidance on the application of the Act.
