Government Accelerating Payments to Farmers

OTTAWA, ON, February 6, 2006 - Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food and Minister for the Canadian Wheat Board Chuck Strahl announced today that producers will begin to receive initial payments under the $755 million Grains and Oilseeds Payment Program (GOPP) within the next two weeks.
